Medical Cannabis

Many states have legalized Cannabis for recreational use. Many states are now allowing the use of medical cannabis with a prescription. How will this affect my DOT examination? THC is still a federally regulated substance. Any use of THC with or without a prescription will disqualify a driver from getting a medical card. CBD oils and creams should not affect the examination and qualification for a medical card. It is possible although not likely to fail a drug test when only using CBD products. A failed drug test will likely disqualify drivers until they go through a substance abuse program.
